Job Title: Human Resource Officer
 
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Preferred Personnel Africa is looking for an experienced and energetic individual to join us as a Human Resources Officer. PPA is a professional human resources agency, with over 20 years of experience within the East African Market and our vision is to provide the right staff for the right people.

The HR Officer should have experience in basic HR services including staff recruitment, payroll, compensation management, performance management with a good understanding and practical knowledge of the Kenya Labor laws and statutory returns.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
 
Key Responsibilities will include but not limited to;
  • Assist in the design, development and delivery of strategic and operation HR services of the organization.  
  • Assist in carrying out staff audits for our clients, identify gaps and propose staffing levels and strategies for the specific client organization.
  • Implement HR policies, practices, and procedures, and ensure compliance with legal laws and/or regulations in regards to recruitment, outsourcing and other functions.
  • Assist in the drafting of job advertisements for vacant jobs, screening applications, shortlisting and interviewing and selecting candidates.
  • Assist in reviewing client recruitment and outsourcing requests to ensure all recruitment and outsourcing are conducted against the organization’s staff establishment.
  • Maintain an up to date and accurate staff records and filing system.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Maintain good relationships with employees and business partners.
  • Show a committed demeanor to their work, constantly seeking to make improvements to all HR projects.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Human Resources Management or any Social Science discipline.
  • Postgraduate diploma in Human Resources Management.
  • At least five years in a dynamic human resources role.
  • Experiences within Performance Management, Redundancy and Layoffs are a KEY REQUIREMENT to this role.
