Position: Communication & Data Account Manager
 
Reporting to: Head of Sales & Communication
 
Range: R2L
 
Department: Carrier Services

Role Purpose: 
 
He/ She will be reporting to the Head of Sales and Communication and will manage existing data customer accounts and have some responsibility to find new accounts as well. 
However, the main purpose of the role is for Inside Sales & Account Development in order to provide the best sales support and management to our data customers. 
He/ She will be responsible for providing management and sales force with all communications materials and information necessary to understand and to answer customers’ needs.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities.
 
Operational (incl. Planning):
  • Managing and growing revenues for all high bandwidth data services in the carrier services department.
  • Developing and implementing actions to create additional opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell accounts to increase overall total customers spend with the company. Create account plans and strategies to win new business from both new as well as existing customers.
  • Developing and managing customer relationships for assigned accounts in order to gain strategic positioning with decision makers in order to retain existing revenue and attain additional business.
  • Delivering responsive, proactive, and professional correspondences related to any account functionality including billing, service activation, or escalation of technical support.
  • Developing sales in the designated target market(s) by identifying new sales opportunities by contacting prospective customers by premise visits, networking, lead generation, and customer appointments.
  • Provide concise and professional  presentations on Carrier Services products to customers
  • Insure accurate and timely data sales and communication reports
  • Develop all communication materials for sales force: presentations and sales pitches as required.
  • Build department input for annual strategic marketing plan and operational marketing plan.
Academic/ Professional Qualifications
  • Degree in Business/Marketing, or other relevant field (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in sales environment
  • Understanding of Telecom sector as well as associated strategies and business challenges.
  • Identification and development of key partners and vendor relationships to maximize Telkom Carrier Services’ ability to provide best solutions to the customer.
Key Competencies:
  • Engage and partner with customers
  • Recognize and assess customer’s key business drivers and challenges
  • Develop level of credibility that positions Telkom Carrier Services to collaborate on construction of customer business cases
  • Ability to follow on customer contract negotiation and implementation
  • Produce quality written materials: Proposals, Business Cases, Organizational Plans, presentations etc.
  • Produce quality reports to the customers and to the management
