Reinsurance Executive Job in Kenya

Our client in the insurance industry is looking to fill the role of a Reinsurance Executive who will report to the Senior Re-Insurance Executive.

Overall Responsibility
  • Assist in all company reinsurance matters and ensure that the company’s position is adequately protected.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review all applications for insurance –determine the profiles of risks presented to the branch/company for re-insurance and assess their acceptability or otherwise.
  • Negotiating treaties, responding to queries, reconciling accounts and insuring statutory returns are made
  • Timely remittance of Statutory returns.
  • Contributing to the development of reinsurance business from the allocated markets.
  • Soliciting and receiving business offers from existing and potential clients in line with the underwriting policy.
  • Carrying out market visits regularly for collections, new business and renewal of existing business.
  • Preparing quotations for new business and renewals to cedants and brokers.
  • Carrying out treaty and facultative underwriting of the business.
  • Translating and interpreting business offers, treaties, facultative and claims and any other documents from clients.
  • Reviewing facultative acceptances regularly ahead of renewal and reviewing treaty acceptances annually.
  • Ensuring the proper processing of all technical transactions.
  • Maintenance of all relevant documentation.
  • Timely processing of Excess of Loss Claims Recoveries.
  • Any other duties assigned by management in line with the task.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in Business, Insurance, Marketing or any related fields.
  • ACII, FCII or equivalent Qualifications.
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience
